We assess not just the injured area but how your whole body moves, so we can help you recover, rebuild strength and reduce the risk of it happening again. With osteopathy, sports massage and clinical Pilates under one roof, your recovery is joined up from the first session to your return to sport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the questions we’re asked most often about sports injuries. If yours isn’t here, message us on WhatsApp and we’ll be happy to help.

What happens at my first appointment?
Your osteopath asks about your injury, your sport, your training and your goals, then assesses how the injured area and the rest of your body move. They’ll explain what’s likely going on and, if osteopathy is right for you, begin treatment in the same session, with a clear plan to get you back to your sport.

How soon should I see someone after an injury?
The sooner the better. Early assessment helps you understand the injury, avoid making it worse and start the right recovery plan. Many people wait weeks hoping it will settle, when a few early sessions could have got them back sooner.

Should I rest or keep training?
It depends on the injury. Complete rest isn’t always best, and many injuries recover faster with the right kind of movement. Your osteopath will tell you what’s safe to keep doing and what to avoid while you recover.

What’s the difference between osteopathy and sports massage?
Osteopathy assesses and treats the cause of your injury, using a range of hands-on techniques for muscles and joints. Sports massage focuses on releasing tight, overworked muscles. Many athletes combine the two: osteopathy to treat the injury, and sports massage to support recovery and training.

How can I prevent the injury coming back?
Rebuilding strength and control is key. Clinical Pilates helps strengthen your core and stabilising muscles, and your osteopath can advise on warm-ups, training load and technique.

I hurt my back or neck playing sport. Can you help?
Yes. Find out more about our back pain treatment and neck pain treatment.

My child or teenager has a sports injury. Do you see young athletes?
Yes. We regularly see children and teens with sports injuries and growing pains from football, rugby, swimming, dance and more. Find out more about osteopathy for children.

Do I need a referral or a scan?
No, you can book directly. If you’ve had an X-ray, MRI or a medical report, please bring it along. If we think you need a scan or a specialist opinion, we’ll let you know.

How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the injury, your sport and your goals. Your osteopath will discuss a plan with you at your first visit and review your progress as you go.

What should I wear?
Comfortable sports clothing is ideal. We can also provide shorts and a T-shirt for you to change into before your session.

Is it covered by insurance?
Many health insurance plans cover osteopathy and sports massage. Check your policy, and our team can provide receipts for your claim.

Where are you located?
We have two clinics: in Central, at 6/F, 15 On Lan Street, and in Stanley, at G/F, 120 Stanley Main Street.

When should I see a doctor?
See a doctor or go to A&E straight away if you can’t put weight on the injured leg, the area looks deformed, there’s severe swelling or bruising, you have numbness or tingling, or after any blow to the head with dizziness, confusion or headache.
